Macworld (http://www.macworld.com/article/159010/2011/04/wozniak.html) reports on Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak's keynote session at Storage Networking World in California. Wozniak was questioned about how tablets would change the computer industry.�The tablet is not necessarily for the people in this room,� Wozniak told the audience of enterprise storage engineers. �It�s for the normal people in the world,� Wozniak said.
�I think Steve Jobs had that intention from the day we started Apple, but it was just hard to get there, because we had to go through a lot of steps where you connected to things, and (eventually) computers grew up to where they could do ... normal consumer appliance things,� Wozniak said.

Was there much chatting in the line or were people keeping themselves to themselves?
It was in patches. Some people kept themselves to themselves, others chatted in their small groups of people they already knew. People kept coming by asking us what we were queuing for, none of them looked at me seriously when I told them we were waiting to get into the Apple Store! I chatted a bit with the people around me, was interesting seeing who was there to buy Leopard, who was there just to test it, who was there simply for the T-Shirts and who was there lost in the queue cuz all they wanted was to come in and look around and buy and iPod, knowing nothing about Leopard!!!
My friend was late getting there, so I met him inside the store when he finally got in.
Was some professional looking videoing going on outside of the queue, anyone know who it was??

I am definitelynot a 'power user', but I am a hardcore gamer. And when I see a friend with a year old PC playin Warcraft with less jumpiness then my 6 month old powermac, it makes me want to switch. Power does matter to me, and you cant get much power for the amount of money I have when it comes to computers from apple.

I'm a heavy Chronosync user but I carry my MacBook back and forth and synchronize them on the same LAN (at home in my case). Synchronizing them at different locations requires getting through routers and firewalls and needs something like VPN or Yazsoft's Sharetool. Synchronization is an action you must remember to perform before switching from one system to the other.
If Dropbox works for you then it is a much slicker approach. You can use shortcuts (also known as aliases or soft links) to make it appear that various folders in your Dropbox are located at various spots on your drive. Downside to Dropbox is it can cost money if you can't keep below the free limit, and apparently there are security issues with the service since they store your files on their site.

Actually they are concerned that their mac share is growing and they were not ready for it. Within their creative apps macs are over 50% and growing.

Shooting a 50mm on a 5d will produce a focal length of 50mm and a Field of view of 50mm. (50x1+50)
Shooting a 50mm on a 7d will produce a focal length of of 50mm and a field of view of 80mm. (50x1.6=80)
I didn't say on different cameras. I said different lenses on the same, crop, camera.

Can anyone confirm that the update does not make the Mac Pro noisier?
In the past Apple has repeatedly upgraded fan speeds by these updates a couple of months AFTER all reviews had been written. I had once bought my Powerbook G4 (besides other aspects) because it was very quite. A few SMC updates later the fan was running continuously and as such probably lowering average temperatur and service return rate for Apple.
I did the firmware, the SMC was not needed, and no, the machine is not any louder for me.

You guys are forgetting that the LV and ULV version of the HD3000 is underclocked compared to the normal voltage version. So while the normal ones are the same as the 320M, the underclocked LV and ULV ones are definitely not going to match up to the 320M.
even the normal ones cant match up to the 320m esp in windows so i wonder how a 6EU underclocked/volted HD3000 would be able to catch up:mad:

If you ask me, it's pretty clear Apple will update all of its laptops before the holiday season. I personally can't wait to buy a new MB, because my 600 MHz G3 iMac is getting a bit sluggish. My question is this: Will it be a simple CPU upgrade, or will Apple change pricing and/or other hardware (such as HD capacity, RAM, etc.)? Oh, and how long do I have to wait?
They're switching from ASUS to Foxconn so hopefully you'll get a Macbook that doesn't turn off Randomly in the middle of important work.
